Behind the carved sandstone gate marked "Garh Madan," in the heart of Jodhpur's Blue City, generations of history sit quietly within thick stone walls, cusped archways and hand-laid tiled courtyards. We have restored this ancestral home with care — keeping its jharokhas, jaali screens and lime-washed walls intact — so that guests may live inside the story, not just visit it.
Every room opens onto the same courtyard our family has gathered in for decades, now warmed by lantern light and the quiet company of fellow travellers.
Garh Madan is hosted by Mrs. Rekha Jodha, whose family has called this haveli home for generations. Her husband served with the Indian Air Force until 2013, and it was after his retirement that the two of them turned their full attention to a project close to their hearts — bringing this ageing family home back to life.
What followed was years of careful restoration: re-plastering lime walls by hand, repairing carved jharokhas and sandstone archways, and laying tile by tile to revive the courtyards without erasing their character. Rather than let the house sit quiet, Mrs. Rekha Jodha and her husband chose to open its doors — and Garh Madan Heritage Stay was born, a home where the family's history is shared, one guest at a time.
Today, Mrs. Rekha Jodha personally looks after every guest who walks through the carved stone gate, carrying forward a home built on service, patience and quiet pride.
The details that make Garh Madan unmistakably itself — from the carved stone threshold to nights lit only by lanterns and stars.

Beneath a vaulted ceiling, vintage chandeliers and cool cement-tile floors, our domed hall is the heart of every celebration hosted at Garh Madan — from wedding functions and ring ceremonies to birthdays, anniversaries and small family gatherings.
The space is flexible enough for seating, standing receptions or a simple long table, and opens directly onto the courtyards — so your guests can move between the hall and the rest of the haveli through the festivities.

Book Your Jeep Ride"Staying at Garh Madan felt like being welcomed into someone's family home — because that's exactly what it is. Mrs. Rekha Jodha and her team looked after us so warmly, and the haveli itself is beautiful, every corner full of character. The rooftop sunset and the fireside dinner were the highlight of our Jodhpur trip."
"A hidden gem inside the Blue City. The rooms are spotless and comfortable, the courtyard is stunning at night, and the heritage Jeep pickup was such a fun touch. We even got to try the Lal Maas and Dal Baati on request — genuinely some of the best home-style Rajasthani food we've had."
"Some houses are built to impress. This one was built to be lived in — and it still remembers how."
